Alert Neighbors

Alert Neighbors is a program of awareness and prevention. As a part of this program, we have installed alert neighbor sign toppers on street signs throughout the neighborhood and we have installed larger alert neighbor "We Call Police" signs at our main entrances. Our neighborhood directory is published annually and is free to all members.

Block Captains

The Block Captain program is in place on most blocks in Park Plaza South. These volunteers have collected information from the residents on their block to be used in case of an emergency. This, along with the directory that is distributed by the Block Captains, allows neighbors to make quick contact with each other when needed. Our email news and alert program is ongoing. Using email address provided by homeowners we post bulletins for lost pets, information from city leaders and general news/alert topics as they are brought to our attention. We welcome more volunteers to fill Block Captain spots. Please contact contact Bob Herndon, Block Captain Chair to volunteer at 294-1256 or email ppshoa@gmail.com if you are interested in becoming a Block Captain.

Neighborhood Alerts

  • Found/Lost pets - If you have lost or found a pet, send an email to ppshoa@gmail.com and we will post it for the other HOA members to see. If possible please provide a photo with your email. This effort has become very successful in reuniting pets and families. Thank you to all the PPS pet owners who comply with the Tulsa city ordinances regarding pet ownership.
  • Safety Alerts -From time to time, we will provide HOA members with e-mail information regarding your safety, such as reminders and tips about securing your home and being alert neighbors.
  • Community News - PPS HOA also sends you information directly from the City of Tulsa for Meetings for PlanItTulsa, environmental events, City involvement, etc.

Welcome Committee

PPS HOA has a dedicated committee of residents who greet new families to the neighborhood called the Welcome Committee. New Neighbors are welcomed with a visit from a committee member who provides a treat of bread or sweets along with a PPS HOA welcome letter and a membership form to the PPS HOA. We welcome volunteers! Please Contact ppshoa@gmail.com if you are interested in joining the Welcome Committee.

Events Committee

The Events Committee coordinates the Block Party and the Spring Clean Up and Garage Sale. We welcome volunteers! Please contact ppshoa@gmail.com for more information!

Block Party

Held each September, The Neighborhood Block Party has become a PPS HOA tradition with food, fellowship and door prizes!

Garage Sale and Spring Clean Up

Each Spring, PPS HOA coordinates the Spring Clean up and Neighborhood Garage Sale. Held on a Saturday, the Garage sale is advertised with an ad in the Classifieds of the Tulsa World Newspaper and with large signs at our entrances. When available, we receive 2 dumpsters from the City of Tulsa to place debris and other trash from your attic, garage or yard!

We have held this event for several years and it is a tremendous success. We are looking into having the Dumpsters again in the Fall for a Fall Clean Up. Details TBA.

Partners In Education -(PIE)

PPS HOA officially became a PIE with Grissom Elementary School in May of 2009. PARTNERS IN EDUCATION provide a valuable link between the community and Tulsa Public Schools. Tulsa's Partners In Education program is a joint effort between the Tulsa Metro Chamber and Tulsa Public Schools. The program seeks to link community resources with Tulsa's children in order to provide them with the knowledge and skills necessary for future success. Established in 1983, Tulsa's Partners in Education program has brought thousands of volunteers into Tulsa Schools. The Partners In Education program connects children and teachers with corporate, education, volunteer, government and civic leaders. These partnerships help educators improve the academic and personal growth of all children. Our mission is to unite businesses and the community with schools for the common goal of increasing the quality of education for all students in Tulsa Public Schools. A partnership can be as simple as having lunch with a child, offering your professional expertise, donating supplies and many more. Every resource helps, and the sky is the limit when it comes to partnership opportunities.

PPS Curbside Recycling Program

We are proud to say that PPS HOA is committed to recycling in our neighborhood. Residents use Green Recycling Bins to recycle paper, glass, aluminum and plastic which are collected 2 times per month. Visit www.tulsarecycles.com or call 438-9994 or 596-9777 to speak with someone about the Curbside Recycling Program.

Both Grissom Elementary School and Fellowship Lutheran Church welcome our newpaper recycling in their collection bins.

Metropolitan Environmental Trust -(MET)

PPS HOA has encouraged neighbors to participate in the MET events in Tulsa by sending emails about MET events. The MET sponsors events to dispose of household chemicals, paints, oils and grease, as well as educational services to teach safer alternatives to household pollutants and proper storage techniques for household pollutants. The Metropolitan Environmental Trust coordinates and promotes recycling and environmental events in the metropolitan Tulsa area. Please contact them also to get your green recycling bin or to browse their website which is full of informative tips - http://www.metrecycle.com/
